Your Brain : Use It Or Lose It

Forgetfulness is typical as we age. Nearly everyone requires more time to learn and recall information as they age. This is because the communication between brain cells inevitably slows down as people get older. That may be a good reason to keep your thinking skills sharp. Many doctors suggest "brain teasers" as a way to use your brain.

You may be thinking, "I use my brain all the time". Of course you do, but are you challenging your brain? Playing games- whether they be jigsaw, Sudoku, mah-jong, dominos, Phase 10, crosswords, poker or Scrabble- keeps the chemicals in the brain reacting and communicating. Find a game you enjoy and play it often. There are many, many free games on the web. Locate them by searching for games by name or simply type in brain games. You may need to build up your skills for some games. There are easy and difficult versions of games. If you find them too hard, try a children's version for a while.
